The Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Medal is a religious icon dedicated to the first American saint , founder of the Sisters of Charity of St. Joseph .
Born in 1774 in New York, Elizabeth Ann Seton was an extraordinary woman of faith who dedicated her life to serving others, especially the poor and marginalized. After her husband's death, she converted to Catholicism, founded the first Catholic school in the United States, and dedicated her life to education and caring for the needy.
Beatified in 1963 and canonized in 1975 , St. Elizabeth Ann Seton is recognized for her importance in the history of the Catholic Church and as an example of dedication and charity .
The medal is a symbol of his holiness and an object of devotion for Catholic faithful who wish to honor his life and ask for his intercession.
